GBIF course by lake Baikal in Siberia

Following after the conference on Information Technologies in the Research of Biodiversity in Irkutsk, there will be a course in data mobilization skills using GBIF and BOLD tools.

Details and registration link can be found here. The course has two main topics: biodiversity data mobilization and barcoding. The first part will focus on practical work with the aim of enhancing capacity to plan and carry out data digitization to GBIF standards. The barcoding part will focus on practical and theoretical introduction to DNA barcoding through Barcode of Life Data Systems (BOLD).

ForBio and GBIF will also organize a similar workshop in workshop in Moscow (15th to 17thMay 2018). Register here.

GBIF and ForBio have submitted another proposal for a series of several similar courses on publishing GBIF data over the next three years. These courses will be held in at least five different countries: Norway, Tajikistan, Belarus, Ukraine and Armenia. Stay tuned for updates, or contact the GBIF node or ForBio.
