Back by popular demand!

The Norwegian Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) node, in collaboration with the Nansen Legacy project, invite you to attend a 2-day workshop to help you publish your biodiversity data as Darwin Core Archives! This is a fantastic opportunity to work on your data with the assistance of experts who are involved in developing the Darwin Core standards.

By the end of this workshop, you should:

  • Have published your data or be able to finish publishing them at home by following a few simple final steps.
  • Have learned about the Darwin Core standards and why it is important to publish biodiversity data in Darwin Core Archives.
  • Be able to publish your future data in Darwin Core Archives by yourself.

We invite you to bring your own data. It is also possible to practice with dummy data that we can provide for you. No experience is required, as long as you know and understand your own dataset!

Are my data right for this?

In general, data that includes a list of species should be published as Darwin Core Archives. Measurements or facts associated with these species can also be included, including community measurements and data from experiments. If you are not sure whether your data are suitable to publish as a Darwin Core Archive, or if you have any other questions, please contact helpdesk@gbif.no.
