A significant amount of biodiversity data is recorded every year by private companies. Collected as part of Environmental Impact Assessment studies and national monitoring programs, this data most often remains locked in reports, unavailable to the wider society.

Following the OpenPSD meeting at the UiO Natural History Museum on 6th February 2020 , a series of new data sources on biodiversity data were identified - including DNV-GL Veracity.
